No heat, cold zones or a leaking boiler? Request repair, maintenance or a replacement assessment for your home's hydronic heating. Share the model and fuel type so JSL can confirm service fit and availability.
For a CO alarm, suspected CO exposure, gas smell, fire or smoke in the home, leave and call 911 from a safe location outside. If you smell gas, do not use switches, flames or a phone inside. Stay out until emergency responders say it is safe. Carbon monoxide has no smell. Health Canada guidance.
If there is no immediate danger, call JSL with your location, symptoms and any code visible without removing covers. Leave fuel, electrical and pressurised-water work to a qualified technician. Do not repeatedly reset the boiler or bypass safety controls. A web request does not confirm an appointment or emergency response.
Tell us whether all zones are affected, when the problem began and whether there was a power interruption or fuel run-out. If you notice new soot or a bang at startup, do not restart the boiler to test it. Call for service.
02
Some zones stay cold
Tell us which radiators, baseboards or in-floor zones stay cold and whether others still heat. The assessment may need to include circulation and controls. Leave valve adjustments, air bleeding and pressure changes to a qualified technician.
03
Leaks or unusual noises
Report visible drips, water collecting near the boiler, or new banging or gurgling. Keep clear of hot water and wet electrical equipment. Do not add water or sealants to troubleshoot a leak. Contact a qualified technician to assess the system.
Repair or replace?
ASSESS THE WHOLE HEATING SYSTEM.
Ask for the diagnosed fault, proposed repair and price. Weigh equipment condition, repair history and parts availability rather than age alone. If replacement is recommended, request a written scope covering the home's heating requirement, existing radiators or in-floor heating, piping, controls and any fuel, venting or electrical work. A boiler replacement needs to suit the system it will serve.

Boiler questions
BEFORE YOU BOOK.
01
How is a boiler different?
A furnace heats air for ducts. A boiler heats water for a hydronic system, such as radiators, baseboards or in-floor heating. It does not automatically supply hot water to taps. Some homes use a combi boiler or a boiler-connected water heater; others have a separate water heater. Tell us whether the problem affects room heating, tap water or both.
Arrange professional inspection and service at least annually, and follow the equipment manufacturer's schedule. Ask about combustion and venting checks for fuel-fired boilers, along with leaks, circulation, controls and system-water condition as applicable. Confirm the visit's scope and keep the findings. New faults need attention when they occur.
Fuel-fired boilers can depend on electricity for controls and circulation. Loss of heat in freezing weather can put water-filled piping at risk. Before leaving home, discuss low-temperature monitoring and a freeze-protection plan for your system. Do not add antifreeze yourself. For no heat, call to check availability rather than waiting for a form reply.

JSL uses Google Analytics automatically on supported public pages to measure visits, selected request and phone-link clicks, and when the service-request form embed enters view.
