What does your home need?

No-heat next steps ↓02
Keep a record of professional inspections and manufacturer-recommended maintenance. If the last service is unknown, ask about an assessment before the heating season.
Plan a service visit ↓03
Discuss recurring faults, equipment condition and a complete installation scope. The right replacement needs to suit your home and its heating demand.
Consider your options ↓Plan before the deep cold.
Arrange a professional inspection each year and follow your furnace manufacturer's maintenance schedule. A filter change is useful routine care, but it does not replace a furnace inspection.
The work required depends on the model, condition and access. Confirm what the visit includes and any additional work before authorizing it.
Request maintenance ↗Have the model number, last service date and a description of the problem ready. Keep safe access to the furnace and share any recent propane run-out or change in performance.
Follow the homeowner manual for filter care. Leave gas valves, regulators, burners and safety controls to qualified professionals.
Service & maintenance options →People first. Then the heating system.
Get everyone outside immediately. Call 911 from a safe location away from the building. If you smell gas, do not use switches, flames or phones inside. Stay out until emergency responders say it is safe.
Carbon monoxide has no smell. Keep working CO alarms in the home and follow their installation and testing instructions.
Check that the thermostat is set to heat and note any visible fault code. If safely accessible, note the tank gauge reading and whether outdoor intake or exhaust openings are blocked. Do not remove covers, repeatedly restart the furnace or bypass controls.
If the tank ran empty or fuel supply is uncertain, contact your propane supplier. Do not try to restore gas service yourself.
Tell JSL your location, equipment type and symptoms. A web request is not emergency dispatch.
If the home is becoming too cold, arrange a safe place to stay and ask about protecting the plumbing. Never use an oven, barbecue or outdoor fuel-burning heater to heat the home.
Health Canada: carbon monoxide safety →Fuel supply and venting matter.
Check outdoor furnace intake and exhaust openings during and after snowfall. Keep them clear of snow, ice and debris where safely accessible. Ask a qualified technician about damage or persistent icing.
Leave regulator adjustments and repairs to professionals. Do not chip ice off gas equipment or use a flame or improvised heater to warm a tank.
Extreme cold can affect propane pressure and fuel delivery. Ask your supplier whether the tank, regulator and winter supply arrangements suit your home's heating needs.
Monitor the tank level, plan deliveries and keep safe access clear. A furnace service request does not arrange a propane delivery.
Compare the complete job.
Start with the fault, repair history, parts availability and condition of the system. A replacement assessment should consider your home's heat loss, local climate and airflow rather than simply matching the old furnace size.
Ask how the furnace, ductwork, venting, fuel supply, controls and start-up checks fit together. Include any electrical or condensate work required by the chosen equipment.
Compare the full installed cost, tank arrangements, fuel delivery, ongoing service and oil-equipment removal. Fuel prices and efficiency both affect operating cost; savings are specific to the home.
Review the oil heating guide →Confirm equipment, included work, exclusions and any permit or inspection requirements before proceeding. Ask who is responsible for supplier coordination and removal of existing equipment.
Before you book.
Plan a professional inspection annually and follow the manufacturer's maintenance schedule. New faults, unusual odours or unreliable heat need attention when they occur.
The price depends on the equipment, condition, access and work required. Ask for the service scope and price, including whether parts or additional repairs are extra.
There is no single answer for every home. Compare current delivered fuel prices, equipment efficiency, tank costs, maintenance and the full installation scope before deciding.
A furnace heats air distributed through ducts. A boiler heats water for a hydronic system. Tell us which equipment you have so we can discuss the appropriate service.
The form sends a request for follow-up and does not confirm an appointment or emergency response. For no heat, call 867-447-2856 to check availability. For a gas smell or CO alarm, leave and call 911 from outside.

Checking analytics preference.
JSL uses Google Analytics automatically on supported public pages to measure visits, selected request and phone-link clicks, and when the service-request form embed enters view. These clicks and views do not confirm a submitted request. The careers page is measured only as a page visit. You can turn website analytics off below without a popup or form.
Google receives technical information such as your IP address, browser details, page information, referrer site and cookie identifiers. JSL’s website analytics code supplies fixed page labels, page addresses without query strings or fragments, referrer origins and a limited set of campaign labels. It does not read form contents or set user IDs. Google advertising features are disabled for this integration. When enabled, the Residential Service Request form’s separate Google Analytics integration measures form activity and completed requests. Jobber may use analytics cookies and send Google browser and other technical data, cookie identifiers, full page and referral URLs, and campaign details. This integration operates independently of JSL’s website analytics code. Turning website analytics off in Privacy settings does not turn off Jobber’s own analytics. We have not verified whether Jobber independently respects Global Privacy Control.
Your website analytics preference is saved separately from marketing. A saved analytics off choice remains until you change it or clear this site’s browser data. JSL’s website analytics code respects existing analytics refusals and Global Privacy Control. Website analytics stays off if the preference cannot be reliably stored. Turning it off disables further measurement by JSL’s controller and attempts to remove its accessible first-party analytics cookies; it does not erase information Google already received. Marketing tracking is off.
If you allow marketing tracking, Meta Pixel measures page visits and selected campaign clicks to help measure and improve JSL’s Facebook and Instagram advertising. JSL’s tracking code does not send form contents or supply advanced-matching data. Website analytics has separate controls above. You can turn marketing tracking off here at any time.
